Mozartkugeln

He made, after experimenting for a long time, in 1890 a chocolate called „Mozartkugel“, or „Mozart bonbon“ as it was first called. He chose the „Mozartkugel“ to show his respect for Mozart, Salzburg’s son who, at this time was not very popular.
In a costly production method and using the same recipe, in the same house the "Original Salzburger Mozartkugeln" are made by hand today.
The „Mozartkugel“ were, especially after the
Second World War, produced by the millions and
copied by lots of different companies, which obviously
contributed to making the Mozartkugel so famous.
It is, however, important to say that only the chocolates
coming from the house of Fürst may be sold as
„the original Mozartkugel“. All other products in the
shops are usually industrially produced copies of the
originals made by Paul Fürst.
