The Wolfgangsee is one of the most beautifully placed lakes in the Austrian Alps. And furthermore usually offers excellent visibility and extreemly interesting reviers for divers.

The walk around the lake is also very delightful and rewarding for hikers, whereby one must not do the whole route at once, as it is possible to take the regular service boat back from all important villages.

Sailing, surfing, diving, motor-boats, regular service boats, water-skiing,.... all this is possible on and in the Wolfgangsee!

Schafbergbahn

Take the steam, cog-wheel railway up to the summit of the Schafberg mountain in 59 minutes, from where you can admire 14 lakes of the beautiful Salzkammergut region!
A pleasure for railway nostalgic enthuisiasts, for both children and adults. The mountain station is an ideal starting point for further hikes.

Wolfgangsee boat trips

Take a nostalgic boat trip on the almost 130 year old paddle steamer "Kaiser Franz-Josef" across the beautifull Wolfgangsee: from St. Gilgen to St. Wolfgang. A combined ticket for both the boat and the cog-wheel railway up the Schafberg is available.

Hotel Weißes Rössl (The White Horse Inn)

The famous operetta's first public appearance was in 1930 in Berlin and has since been translated into 20 languages - a world success. Numerous films show the famous hotel the "Weißes Rössel" - The White Horse Inn - and have so made it famous. You really must enjoy a cup of coffee on the beautiful hotel terrace.
